Presentations & Surprises

Well once again I found myself having a really lovely weekend. Mart's been off work because of the School being on half term all week and I managed to wangle a Friday off work so off to Wolves we went for a little shopping trip to find something to wear for Martin's brother's football presentation on the Saturday. I got myself a really nice black with poker dot dress and some black heels whilst Mart got a nice shirt and tie we then headed over to Chiquito's for some yummy mexican food which finished the day off quite nicely.

Saturday came round and during the evening I went along with Martin and his family to his brother's football presentation. It was a really lovely night consisting of a 3 course meal, an Irish band and Mart's younger brother scooping the most improved player of the year trophy!

Finally to finish what was already an awesome night my best friend Ky surprised me by coming back to Telford for the weekend and coming on a night out to Planet with us. I was soooo excited to see him and we had such a laugh. So all in all a very enjoyable weekend :)

I really love

It's the most amazing stuff to put on your legs when you've just got out the shower. I used to work at The Body Shop when I was about 16, my aunty was the manager and it was the most chilled out job ever. I Used to love going around the shop sampling everything particularly the Body Butters :) I'm feeling good today, my mother and I spent pretty much all day chucking out loads of stuff I have collected over the years. It brought back a lot of good memories and it was really sad having to let go of a few things. I've kept a few important things but most of the stuff will be lying on top of rubbish tip tomorrow afternoon. I guess in a way it's time to say goodbye to my teenage years and embark on the new stage of my life....the twenties! Kinda scary thinking i'm gonna be 23 this year. Even hearing me say it out loud in my head freaks me out a little. Oh well still a while off yet and I've got plenty to look forward to between now and then.

Valentines, Jobs & Travels

Well first off I know it's late but Happy Valentines! Have to say I was a little shocked at the amount of hate flying around facebook about Valentines day this year. So many bitter people really trying to make a point about how much they didn't care about the day and that's fair enough but who are you trying to prove it to?.
Well to be honest I wasn't bothered much myself this year seen as Martin and I were sharing our third and I think were passed the whole going out for dinner and stuff thing, so we just had a quiet meal at home. Martin cooked us some really yummy steaks but it wasn't quite the romantic setting we were hoping for seen as my mom and dad were going crazy in the kitchen because my pops burnt a whole in the kitchen floor haha sooo yeah that was kinda awkward.

Martin then went on to point out the bear I had got him which was meant to say 'I love you' in fact said 'I love YO' FAIL. Luckily Mart found it hilarious and I just said if you pronounced it without the 'u' then it would sound like me saying it in a Wolverhampton accent :) so yeah Valentines was sorta a success...I think?

In other news I didn't get my job at the OMH...sad face.I think they wanted someone who could fully commit to the position and that just couldn't happen with me and the hours I put in at the Theatre. But it's not the end of the world and i'm just happy to have the job i've got at the moment.

On the other hand though I recieved an email at work yesterday from my lovely friend Shana who is taking me on a road trip when I go visit her in the States in May. Shana is from North Carolina and we got really close when I started University in 2007. I met her on my first night and we clicked instantly and have remained good friends since. I'm so excited about going to visit her and being able to explore a few parts of the USA (somewhere I have always wanted visit). So recieving an email with a list of all the plans she has lined up for me got me a little bit excited at work. So much so I squealed like a big idiot and scared my work colleague half to death haha...I don't care though it cheered me up. Here's a picture of Shana and I from last Halloween when she came to visit us on the way home from a summer in India.

I'm currently sleeping on my mattress on the floor at home at the moment so it feels like i'm having a sleepover every night :) I'm having my room decorated which is nearly done, i'm just waiting on my new bed and it will be complete. It's looking really good so far but I will get another blog up with pics as soon as it's all finished, which will hopefully be soon!

Just found my old school photo from year 11 in 2005. It's funny how things change. I hung around with these girls throughout my entire time at Secondary School and can safely say I probably speak to about two of them now and even that's once in a blue moon. I guess it's just hard trying to stay in contact with people when everyone if off living their own lives. I hope they are all well and happy. P.S you can so tell this is when GHD's had just come out. STRAIGHT HURRRRRRRRRRRRR CREW :)

The Piano

Just watched 'The Piano' for the first time. Woweee i'm in love. What a beautiful yet dark film. Loved the music too, I didn't realise I've actually got a few of the songs from the original soundtrack. I absolutely adore piano music and my favourite pianist of all time is Ludovico Einaudi. I was lucky enough to watch one of his concerts live at the Royal Albert Hall in 2008 and it was one of the most mesmorising thing's i'd ever witnessed. I was literally captivated from start to finish and he performed my favourite Eden Roc. Eden Roc is very much more experimental compared to his classical compositions and I love that he is willing to experiment some modern electronica and combine it with his more classical styles.

Clearance

Started my bedroom today! Exciting stuff. Bit of a drag having to remove EVERYTHING out of my room though. I didn't realise how much stuff I have that I actually don't need. Under my bed are just boxes full of old work books from Secondary School, tons of scarfs from my old obsession with the damn things. Loads of paperwork from when I was looking at Uni's. Boxes full of crappy jewelery and pointless things like remotes from old tv and dvd players. I also have so many clothes in my wardrobe that I just simply don't wear. I've cleared my wardrobe out before and kept bit's and piece's thinking "oh, I know, I'll keep this because I might wear it again soon" and never do. I think I just need to man up grab some bin bags and just throw everything away. Need to make room for things I do need instead of having things lying around collecting dust.

Me and Dad started painting my walls silver and it was really fun and relaxing. It does need a second coat but were gonna do that tomorrow and then start on the wallpaper for my feature wall. I'm currently searching for a new bed frame for my double bed and like the look of this one. Hopefully I might be able to find something similar soon.

Lucy, Jade & Laura

I went to Reading last weekend to visit my old housemate's and it was amazing how easy it was coming back together again. I've not seen them since September which is a crazy long time seen as we were all so used to being inseperable. It was actually quite emotinal to say the least. My life has changed quite drastically over the months and it's safe to say I don't have a lot of female friend's left around here apart from my best friend's Ruth and Liv who are both living away in Manchester & Birmingham. It's been tough not having my girl's around and it was wonderful to be reunited with them over the weekend. Although I do believe now in the old saying 'The friends you make at University are the friend's that stay with you forever'.

Bedroom Makeover

Today my mom and I went shopping for new wallpaper and paint ready to start decorating my bedroom on Friday. So far i'm really happy with what I've chosen. The look i'm going for has a vintage feel but still remains quite girly and the colour's i've chosen are pink, black and silver. It's a bit different but i'm just so ready for a new look. My bedroom is painfully dull at the moment due to 3 years of neglect whilst I was at Uni but now i'm back it just needs lifting. I've got some black floor length curtains and matching black vintage cushions to go on my double bed (as soon as I inherit my parents double bed)that is :). I'm also planning on buying a black chandelier for the lighting and having grey carpet layed on the floor. I'm hoping it's all gonna come together well and i'm sure it probably will, either way I will just be grateful of the change and having a space which is a bit more me.

The wallpaper I have brought is Super Fresco Flock Effect Elizabeth Pink/Silver Effect.

Someone like you

This song actually makes my heart hurt. Adele I have missed your voice <3

Floods

This is a picture I took standing on the bridge just outside my work yesterday. It's the car park most of our theatre goer's use and as you can imagine I was a little bit shocked when I strolled up to work to find this over flown river had appeared. What amazes me if the fact we didn't really have much rainfall during the build up to this but just imagine what could of happened if we had even more! It's crazy what the weather can do and yet we have absolutely no control over it. Kinda scary really.

Im Back!

So my laptop's been dead for a whole 5 months I have been blogless but now thanks to my super techno geek of a boyfriend he has finally fixed it. I am now free to use both hands to type instead of using my thumbs on my iPod touch which I have been using as a replacement internet for soooo long. It's good to be able to upload my camera pics and just seeing everything on the big screen again :)

It's safe to say not a great deal has changed between the past few months haha but I am happy. Work is great still loving the town, the people my job is good and it's great getting to see free shows ;) I've recently applied for a second job to boost up my hours but also to get abit more experience in another element of our company. Theatre Severn is joint with an independent cinema in town called The Old Market Hall. It's an adorable 60 seater cinema situated right in the middle of Shrewsbury town. It's one of these kind of places you can escape from the noisy Chav's and over priced tickets you get at the likes of Cineworld and Odeon. They have double seats for couples and you are welcome to take a glass of wine or beer in whilst watching your film. It really is just a lovely little place to work so i'm hoping to get some hours over there too.

I will blog more now i've got this little baby up and running but that'll do for now. Here's a few pics of the OMH and fingers crossed ill get the second placement :).
